This is what we are up to this week...
In math we will continue to work on fractions and using a ruler to measure to the nearest quarter inch. We will concentrate on comparing fractions as this seems to be especially difficult to some students. We will also work on telling time to the minute and calculating elapsed time.
I am no longer giving timed multiplication drills. Most students passed all tests. However, please encourage your child to practice the facts! I will be giving a multiplication fact test in April, and we will be celebrating the mastery of this standard with an ice cream social!
In science we will finish our exploration of minerals and rocks. I will try to get some computer lab time so students can work on the webquest. Remember...there has been a change in the due date. It is now due on April 19. (The link is on the Super Science Sites page of this website.) We will begin to explore soils next!
I will post some photos of my students examining and recording data on 5 kinds of rocks. They have had so much fun!
You should have received information about the CRCT practice link, with your child's login and password. I tried to make the practice tests short. I will be adding science items this week.
Your child took the STAR Reading and Math tests last week. Look for the scores to come home in Friday's courier.
If you haven't already, please provide your email address at the right. My blog updates will come directly to you via your email. It really does work!
