Phonics/Spelling--compound words
Grammar--simple and complex sentences
Writing--use a graphic organizer to plan story
Math--pictographs, bar graphs, draw conclusions from graphs
Science--begin unit on pollution and conservation
Social Studies--review Paul Revere, maps and globes
I will give a test later this week.

Your child has login information for First in Math. The students are excited, and the competition is on!
The September Reading calendar is due on Oct. 1. This is the calendar that you initial on the days your child reads for 20 minutes. An October calendar went home in courier--this month through March, your child can earn a personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut for participating in the reading program Book It. Please initial the days your child reads for 20 minutes. The goal is to read at least 5 days each week. The October calendar is due November 4. It will be used as a project grade, so encourage your child to take good care of it.
Eagle Trek is ongoing! Keep up the good work! I see that our class is working hard to support the PTA and Foundation--I read that we are tied with Mrs. Kim's class, with 43% participation! Remember, the big day is Oct. 3, the day we wear our t-shirts and walk! Keep trekking!
