I hope you all enjoyed Spring Break! I got to spend time with family and friends, relax on the beach, and read a great book!
Here's what we are up to this week:
Language Arts
Comprehension Skill: sequence
Spelling/phonics pattern: oo, ew, ue
Writing: persuasive (using words like because)
Math
Elapsed time
Liquid volume and mass
Science: begin unit on fossils
SS: review important people we have studied and place them on a time line.
Notices
Students will be taking the CRCT soon. While I don't talk about testing much, it will be important for students to get a feel for the testing format. I will be sending home practice test questions in all academic areas everyday. Please encourage your child to complete the assignment each night. As a class we will review the answers and discuss helpful strategies the following day. I don't want to cause stress about the test, but I also want my students to have every opportunity to feel comfortable with the format of the test and to have tools and strategies for success.
