Yep...it's testing week. I will be administering the CogAT (Cognitive Abilities Test) on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of this week. There is no way to prepare for this test except to come to school rested and ready to work. Because of the testing, there will be no homework except to read each night.
This is what we are up to this week...
We will be finishing up our language arts lesson from last week. Students will also work on their writing..."stretching" their paragraphs by adding more details and interesting words such as adjectives.
In math we will finish up graphs, not just creating them but analyzing them and drawing conclusions from them. This has been a challenge for some students. Students will continue to work on Accelerated Math assignments, Math Facts in a Flash, and First in Math.
In science we will begin our unit on pollution and conservation.
I allowed students to earn back points on the social studies test by locating the correct answers in their Social Studies Weekly newspapers. This seemed to be a good learning experience.
Eagle Trek was so much fun! A big thank you to all who came to cheer us on!
