We have really enjoyed learning about Greek culture and its influence on us today. After learning about Greek columns, students completed a STEM challenge. Working in pairs, they each made one kind of column (having to identify it as either Doric, Ionic, or Corinthian). The challenge for each pair was to make their columns so that an index card could be placed flat (not slanted) on top of both. They used clay, a ruler, and a pencil.
