A big congratulations goes to Elle, who earned a 1st Place ribbon (for 3rd-5th grade)! Her project goes on to the county level competition. I have had to talk to my class about putting forth more effort when completing tasks for school. I want them to take pride in their work. I'm expecting neater work that is turned in on time. I am also expecting more independence and better listening skills. Please encourage them to also do their homework neatly and carefully. As always, thanks so much for your support at ho We got off to a slow start last week, but we are back on track now!
Please refer to last week's blog...that is basically what we are doing this week. There will be spelling work this week (words with silent consonants...pretty difficult!). I will also give a math test on the concept of division on Friday. I really enjoyed Honors Day. I am so very proud of all my students. They have all worked so hard. This semester I will be giving checks (not a good thing) to students who do not complete homework or who do not follow the rules of the classroom and school. There is not a big problem, but I want to prepare my students for the higher expectations of 4th grade. A student cannot earn the Citizenship Award at the end of the year if she/he earns too many checks. Please get in the habit of checking your child's planner everyday...this is where checks will be recorded. I want to thank you so much for your ongoing support. The holiday party was wonderful! Thank you to all who stuff couriers, clean, and help out in other ways. And a big thanks goes to Mattie's family who took good care of Bella and Muffy over the long break! I hope everyone enjoyed the holidays!

December reading logs were due before the break, but I will accept them this week as well. Thank you so much for the very generous gift card! I sure did enjoy shopping after the holidays! |
