Well...we have made it! I hope you all have a fantastic summer! Third grade can be intense, but your child should be well prepared for 4th grade and beyond. Thanks for your support!
This week we will work on Accelerated Math, unit reviews, and magnets. The Multiplication Ice Cream party was yummy! Most, but not all, of my students mastered all the multiplication tables. If you child did not, it is very important for her/him to work on mastery this summer. There are so many resources and fun ways to study--just go to the math page on this website. It is imperative that your child know these facts when they walk through a 4th grade door in August. If your child did demonstrate mastery, he/she still needs to practice to keep up fluency! I'm sure I will think of other things to tell you so keep checking back. Thank you so much for all the wonderful tokens of appreciation! I had a fantastic week! Recovering from a tough loss at Tug-O-War This is what we are up to this week... In math students will continue to work on Accelerated Math, attempting to master as many objectives as possible. They will also work on their ABC books of 3rd grade math terms. I will be giving a final multiplication test on Wednesday. It will cover all tables, 0's through 10's. On Friday we will celebrate with an ice cream social. The more tables mastered, the more toppings students can earn. In science we will play with magnets and maybe even make a model of a fossil. Congratulations to the new patrols...Reeve, Larry, and Naeem! Thanks to Coach Harper and all the wonderful parent volunteers who made Olympic Day such a success. A fun time was had by all! Congratulations to these Run 4 Fun runners! They ran in the rain and once again earned the trophy! I am in awe of their dedication, spunk, and spirit! I am sooo proud of them! Thanks so much for the wonderful birthday wishes! I had a great day! Thank you for the very generous VISA card! I will treasure all the beautiful, creative cards! This week we will be moving forward in math. Today some students worked on really difficult multiplication problems. They also created math story problems. We brainstormed math terms they learned this year so they can begin working on their math ABC books, a large project we will work on in class. Students will also be working to master as many objectives as they can in Accelerated Math. And I am encouraging all students to push forward in Math Facts in a Flash! In math we will play with magnets! Let's hope the sun comes out soon! We want to get back outside! |
