Sunshine! What a beautiful thing!!
A big congratulations to all my students who participated in the Sagamore Math Tournament! I am so proud of you! It was very exciting to see so many students spending their Saturday morning doing math! And congratulations to the Math Club members who worked hard all year to prepare and qualify for the team event. Evansdale's two teams worked with great intensity on some really challenging questions! Way to go!!
This is what we are up to this week...
In math we will be "playing" with different geometric shapes. Students will find similarities and differences and begin to develop an understanding of properties of groups of shapes. I will post some useful interactive websites.
In science we will learn about different ecosystems in our state and the plants and animals that live there. Your child should be starting her/his project. The following websites are good places to begin...
http://naturalhistory.uga.edu/~GMNH/habitats/habitats.htm
http://georgiawildlife.com/conservation/georgia-animals-plants
Reminders:
We still are in need of hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes. We are trying sooo hard to stay healthy!
Please check your child's planner for notes on behavior and for homework assignments.
Many students still need to master the multiplication facts. I will continue to give them timed fact drills every day. They are expected to completed the practice log as a graded homework assignment which is due on Fridays.
